Photography Competition

Photography – another much loved side to your activity holiday in Austria and with such beautiful scenery and so much going on you can see why it’s a popular pastime.

This stunningly gorgeous photo   ‘ Morning mood on the Schwarzsee’ is the 2011 winner of the photography competition held annually by Tirol Erleben.  This photograph, taken by Christoph Wörle, is the Schwarzsee Lake in Kitzbühel, which is one of the many swimming lakes in the area, and was taken early in the morning.

Each year the competition is run through the website www.mein-tirol-foto.at and is for amateur and hobby photographers.   The competition photos are then compiled into an online gallery so even if you don’t have a favourite snap to upload you can always go on line to see the wonderfully beautiful Austrian Tirol through the eyes of fellow holidaymakers which include anything from superb views, action shots, wildlife and culture.  At the end of the year various prizes are offered for the best photography and the winning photos are published in the handy booklet Tirol Erleben for visitors to the region to see.

If you’d like to enter please go to the site and do let us know here at Activity Holidays Austria if you’re having a go – we’d love to support you and to know which bits of your holiday have captured your imagination the most.  Of course, you can always forward photographs to us at guests@activityholidaysaustria.com too!

Thanks and congratulations go to Christoph Wörle for his beautiful photo and to Thomas Reicher of Tirol Erleben for allowing us to use the photo for this blog.  ENJOY!
